A fantastic album, I was just listening to it before... even though it’s not my genre, I must admit this album is unique... great job experimenting, at times even slightly prog in "Non indetreggiare" and some typical metal riffs, this and the other Il seme della devianza are beautiful, and calling them punk is an understatement. It's just that I'm not a big fan of the singer's voice. Great job remembering them. They deserve it.

The Land of Toys was quite original, but the DeDeLind really weren't.. I only listened to "Io non so da dove vengo ecc.." normal pop prog, a good flutist, an average bassist, the others were mediocre; how can you say they're even better than King Crimson? Based on what?

If you shoot at In the wake of Poseidon, it's like shooting at the Red Cross. If you use Pink Floyd as a benchmark for creativity, thanks, but that's nothing new. The first KC album is a great record, even if the coordinates for prog had already been laid out; however, the way it manages to distinguish itself from commonly understood rock is unique, and not drawing too much from classical or jazz, but in an almost entirely original way, unlike Clapton. Then you talk about listenability: without a doubt, a Benson will be more listenable than Fripp, but what does technique have to do with it? It's not that Benson is more listenable because he's more technical, sorry. And then you mention the "crimson pentatonic" they supposedly invented, well, invent it yourself if you can, come on! The other statement you make about the passages all being the same as 21st Century is neither here nor there; it only pertains to the second album. Compared to the other bands you mention (I haven't listened to anything by Pholas), KC were undoubtedly more original; the rest are personal tastes. King Crimson have always and continuously reinvented themselves, and Fripp has had his various bands, with whom he felt connected at the moment—hardly destroying anything—and he has had his various moments of glory over time: the Islands, the Larks, the Discipline; moments that I don't see in Maiden. So if you hate KC because you think they've overshadowed other valid bands, or you dislike Fripp because you don't appreciate that kind of experimentation, that's one thing, but you are making a lot of inaccuracies otherwise.

@c'è: so if in your first two posts you were joking, then I have a chip on my shoulder. If you were mocking me and those who love prog (and I don't care if you love it too) then what I said stands.
@ajeje: yes, but we were talking about the weight that Caravan has in Canterbury, and I personally think they had it, sure, less than Wyatt, less than Gong, but on par with Henry Cow and Hatfield..if they don’t excite you, that’s another story.
