Donna Summer Love To Love You Baby
Voto:
@bjork 68: yes, definitely, for me it's one of the best as well, but it didn't achieve the same sales success as the others, perhaps because it was too close to "live and more" (1978, also a double) and it didn't have a "strong" single! ... YOU UNDERSTAND!!! :=)

beautiful album and splendid repechage, I have everything from Donna Summer up until 1987, when disco was already a thing of the past, and from "all systems go" that year I really save very little! @bjork68, "once upon a time" is the one least remembered, perhaps because it was a bit complex and varied musically, for me the best remains "bad girls" from 1979, and it’s probably the one that sold the most, even though it was a double.

Sorry for the sentimentality, but one of my top 5 favorite movies...

I like it, thanks for the comment. When this album was released, I was unsure whether to get it or not... now you make me want it again!!!

Back then, I had the Paradise mix record, and I wore it out... hey, dude, can you really find these records? Where and at what price? I've never seen them around, I'd love to track them down!
Change The Glow Of Love

I know the singles from this album, I really liked the change!!! The Glow of Love was also sampled by Janet Jackson, who used it in 2001 for her "All for You." They were like the Italian Chic, class, elegance, danceability, but with their own personality... I would have never thought to find them on Debaser... :)

There's nothing to say about Whitney's talents; she's absolutely brilliant, impeccable from many points of view. When it comes to a cold interpretation and a rather uncommunicative character, well, that's quite evident as well. Her albums from the '80s and mid-'90s, one a carbon copy of the other, even if there are great tracks that stand out, like "Greatest Love of All," but she truly shines with "My Love Is Your Love" from 1998, where she FINALLY ventures into black music, leaving aside that flat pop that had characterized her production up to that point. Great album, amazing collaborations (Missy Elliott, Mariah Carey), solid rhythms; she finally manages to express her potential better on soundscapes that might feel a bit distant to her, but blend perfectly with her extraordinary voice... It's a pity that this album ended up being the lowest-selling of her career. For me, it was misunderstood, especially in the States, and it's strange because there, anything labeled as "black" is accepted without question.

they certainly have funky and jazzy influences, it seemed to me that they were very inspired by SWING OUT SISTER, an English band from the late 80s/90s, who played this kind of music. I personally appreciated the English band a lot, and when DSC made their debut, I was captivated. Simona Bencini was really talented, cheerful, fresh, bubbly, definitely a leader, but I agree with uxo, they haven’t been able to renew themselves and progress. I have this album too, very dusty, but it definitely needs to be revisited!!!

I’ve always liked her for her originality and her "borderline" vibe! It’s such a shame she’s disappeared; apart from collaborating with her brother, we haven’t heard anything new from her. Maybe she’s decided to be a full-time mom like Tracey Thorn!
