Gotan Project La Revancha del Tango
Voto:
AWESOME album!! I've been listening to it for 3 years, and on July 21st I went to see Gotan in Villafranca di Verona... I can't even describe what a FANTASTIC concert it was!!!!! Of course, in the car, I've started playing "La Revancha" again, it never gets old for me, it's one of the few albums where EVERY track is extraordinary and I wouldn't take out a single one!!
(Too much enthusiasm??? ... naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaa)

Hi, I'm new here and I signed up today. I found the link while searching for the review of "Lunatico" by Gotan Project and I found it... I never expected to come across the review of this album by Audio2, written in 2006, when the album, if I'm not mistaken, is from 1996!!! It’s part of my collection (I remember I found it on sale), I picked it up because I really liked Audio2 back in 1992/93, during the time of Mina, and also in 1998, when they collaborated on "Mina-Celentano" with some wonderful tracks. However, listening to this album, I remember telling myself: "money wasted!" It contained only one track that I liked, which had the phrase "piegato come un fazzoletto nel cassetto," which struck me a lot at the time. Your review is certainly well-written, and I absolutely agree with you when you say they were an original interlude of the 90s; they had decidedly non-trivial lyrics and engaging music/harmonies. Having a singing style IDENTICAL to that of the legendary Lucio was an extra asset; I never saw them as a clone, but as a duo that started from Battisti and grew in other directions... As much as I didn't like that track at all, didn’t you feel chills listening to "Rotola la vita" (from "Canarino Mannaro" by Mina - 1994), where it seemed like we were back in the early 70s when the great Mina and Lucio were duetting on RAI? :))) Now, ten years later, here you are, putting a bug in my ear: should I dust it off (specifically referring to this CD... the VERB is quite appropriate... heheheheheheh)?
