I can't write anything, my post keeps getting cut off... can someone tell me if I'm using any strange characters??? Anyway, I wanted to say (and I'm writing it for the third time) that the review is beautiful and relevant, the album is extraordinary and truly underrated! I was also in Ferrara on July 6th last year, and the concert was just incredible! So I got the DVD, which faithfully reflects the tour! GREAT!

Fugees The Score

In my CD collection, it certainly couldn't be missing, even though I don't consider it one of the best albums of the '90s (anyway, this is the opinion of 90% of the specialized press). I listened to it a lot, but I think it might be a bit overrated. "Killing Me Softly" was already a beautiful song in the original version, and Lauryn Hill, with her stunning voice (nothing to envy Roberta Flack!), gave it a fresh touch of modernity and new soul. "Ready or Not" is also beautiful with a sample (if I'm not mistaken) from the Jackson 5. The versions of "Fu-Gee-La" are all very interesting... it's a great album, but just a tad overrated! :D
Prince Sign "O" The Times

I cannot agree with Luciano; SOTT is absolutely Prince's masterpiece! Everything that came before it (wonderful as always) was like a red carpet for this album, an invaluable summation of his artistic past, and the highest point of his vast and versatile production. Everything he did afterward is unclassifiable (in the "good" and literal sense of the term); he took, in every album, vastly different and almost paranoid directions. I can't help but compare it to a crazed missile in space, speeding at unimaginable velocities, crashing into asteroids and destroying them, revealing gold veins inside... Beautiful "the rainbow children" and the latest "3121," but SOTT remains so cohesive, fluid, and "perfect" that it stands unsurpassed! :D

well... I understand everything except rudeness (and ignorance, but I don't presume to say that these people are, I don't know them...)
Ryuichi Sakamoto 1996
Voto:
sakamoto ueber alles!!!
This album is truly extraordinary. At the time of its release, I went to see the Japanese artist in concert in Bologna (June 1996), and since then, whenever he comes to Veneto or nearby regions, I do everything I can to attend his concerts!!! When nightwalker10 writes "sakamoto is not to be discussed, he is to be loved" ... it leaves me speechless! At the concert in Bologna, I was moved like very few times before, and I left feeling completely overwhelmed with euphoria and an extraordinary excitement ... was maxarus's review exaggerated? Not at all!
I had known Sakamoto since the Oscar in 1987 for "The Last Emperor" and of course for Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence, but the first album I listened to in full was "Beauty" from 1990, absolutely unmissable, beautiful, a perfect blend of electronics, distinctly Japanese sounds, and a "world" vibe that provides a colorful backdrop throughout the entire album ...
Among other things, "1996" was one of the first albums where an artist wanted to create a compilation of their pieces, but recorded them anew with different arrangements and in other musical forms! :=)
Well done maxarus, I fully agree with your review :=)

I don't understand why people are attacking Dexster for writing a positive review about something he really liked... Is it a crime? I got this Audio2 album 10 years ago and didn’t like it much, but it doesn’t even cross my mind to insult someone who spoke well of it! Tremonti, if you liked Ramazzotti or the Pausona (artists I can't stand), I wouldn’t start talking to you about crap or things like that!!! Come on, show a bit of style, please... :=) Keep it up, Dexster, I also get labeled as "alternative" all the time and I don’t care, don’t give up!!! :=)
