Ron Fricke Samsara
Voto:
there's no story, visually it’s one of the things that moved me the most, equal, perhaps, only to "Microcosmos - Il popolo dell'erba," from 1996, which struck me at the time for the clarity of the images, and the poetry of their movements... both fantastic. thank you for reviewing and (re)bringing to (our) attention Samsara :)
Wong Kar-Wai In The Mood For Love
Voto:
a very powerful film, I saw it when it came out, it’s still one of those that I remember with emotion and tenderness, I was struck by the lifestyle of Hong Kong, the slow-motion scenes, the presence-absence of the respective spouses. beautiful
Mina & Adriano Celentano Le migliori
Voto:
good review, considering your not-so-friendly approach to the album ;)
I have been a fan of Mina for a long time, while I appreciate Celentano's voice but not his writing, and especially his becoming a sort of guru over the last 30 years.
More than the latest LE MIGLIORI, I appreciated the MINACELENTANO from 1998, but if they had released something together in the late '60s/early '70s, it would have been a riot! :)
Donna Summer Lady of the Night
Voto:
this is the only Donna Summer album I have never heard; for the rest, I have always been a great admirer of the Lady. She peaked in her career in 1979 with BAD GIRLS, her best-selling album ever, but OUAT (1977), which tells the story of Cinderella, was an outstanding record for various reasons. Unfortunately, from the 1980s onwards, her star dimmed, even though she remained a great artist, both in music and during her painting phase.
She left us too soon.
Thank you, Carlo, for the retrieval.
Alva Noto + Ryuichi Sakamoto Insen

Interesting review, extraordinary album.
Ryuichi Sakamoto Elephantism

immense Sakamoto!
Don Nicholl & Michael Ross The Jeffersons
Voto:
absolutely extraordinary!!! number one a step above all the others, including robinson, who were famously renowned at the time, then fell into oblivion, more than others who deserved less!

Eurythmics Savage
Voto:
you don't write badly, but really too much... if someone were to not know the artist or the album, I don't think they would be encouraged to check it out! :) anyway, you can tell you're putting in the effort!
I have the vinyl of "savage," the first edition on CD, and recently I bought the remastered version with the bonus tracks (an amazing remaster, by the way). For me, it’s one of the most beautiful albums of the group, which I loved, and also one of the least understood, as most critics say... but if only we had more misunderstood albums like this, in these past ten years... :)
