I don't know the group, but your description piqued my curiosity, so I will look it up. Anyway, as I read your words, I thought of the pizzica, a traditional folk music from Salento (I don't know if you've ever heard of it) with ancient roots; it is said that the dance arises from the bite of a tarantula, and that to "heal" from the spider's bite, one must indeed dance the pizzica around the "tarantolato".......like in a ritual, indeed.

Tepes, why are they such arrogant jerks? Some time ago I read an interview with them and they seemed alright, not particularly arrogant.

Great review, but in my opinion, you forgot to mention the biggest (and most obvious) influence of Psyopus: The Dillinger Escape Plan. You can hear influences from Dysrythmia and Behold... The Arctopus, but they have a more free approach, almost noise with massive doses of jazz... I see Psyopus as more metallic, more grind, but maybe that's just my impression.

In my opinion, it’s not about downplaying Metallica in favor of Pantera or vice versa; that argument wouldn’t make much sense. Both bands have been extremely important and influential for entire generations, but the approach to thrash metal changes. This is why I believe comparisons should be made, but only to a certain extent. Let’s not bicker like some metalheads over which band is better than the other and other nonsense... Let’s try to clarify things and recognize the rightful value of the bands that deserve it (even if we don’t like them). Bartleboom has provided a valid point in favor of Pantera, and I completely agree.

Bà.....guys if you like trash movies from the 70s and want to have fun for a couple of hours (and with this film the fun is guaranteed...but it depends on your concept of fun) then Grindhouse is perfect; I believe there are no half measures with this movie: if you like a certain type of cinema then great, otherwise change the film. But I don't think you'll find anything better in theaters right now...

I don’t know them, but your nice review has piqued my curiosity. Could you maybe make some comparisons with some other bands, just to understand better? I would appreciate it.

Growl??? What, have they turned to death metal? Anyway, I have to get it; and I was planning to swing by Rome too but... nada!!! Sorry for my blatant ignorance, but a question pops into my mind: what the hell are cipolline borettane?

For me, it's a fantastic review, and that's more than enough for me to seek out this album.
