Spastic Ink Ink Complete
Voto:
I want to start by saying that I do not own Ink Complete, but I am well acquainted only with Ink Compatible. However, I believe that in the end, the two works do not differ much... that said, I don't completely agree with what you wrote: the music of Spastic Ink is not merely a display of technique for its own sake; rather, it has a very specific and particular purpose. Their music is very schizoid, crazy, at times confusing and ironic; mainly, the technique of the Jarzombek brothers serves to build (or rather to deconstruct, which is their goal) twisted and sick songs, in a different way than how Meshuggah or Dillinger Escape Plan do, for example. We shouldn't stop at the single solo or the particular drum pattern, because otherwise their music will inevitably seem to us like a simple jumble of these elements...and in my opinion, it is not; it conveys something else as well. I recommend that Dottor Adder, Hell, and also the others give this album a listen; if you find it that disgusting, then I will apologize. ;)

Great review for an immense group
Origin Antithesis

Of a chilling coldness, the origin... but this is what they want to convey, and they do it damn well. With groups like this, there are no nice and good compromises: you either love them or hate them.

Excuse my curiosity, but in every album you listen to, are you always looking for the masterpiece?

Still NIN? Personally, I’m a bit cautious now when Trent decides to release a new album... In recent years, he’s gotten us used to all these releases, but so far, I don’t think such a quantity corresponds to a similar quality. The only noteworthy one in the recent period, in my opinion, is Ghosts I-IV.
