The lesson imparted by Origin is, in some ways, very simple and consists of paving over the listener from the first to the last second of the album's duration.
Then there are various ways to pave over, and here lies the difference between the Kansas crew and the rest, who feed on those decaying scraps known as brutal death metal, which in this specific case has increasingly more affinity with genuinely honest grindcore.
The absolutely impressive thing is that Origin has demonstrated, since their beginnings (about ten years ago), a perfectly clear understanding of the goal they intended to achieve, which can be identified as a definitely extreme musical species, increasingly compact, tremendously technical (even virtuosic), incredibly fast, qualitatively avant-garde (both for the work done in the studio and the substance of the songs created), fiercely powerful to the nth degree, and without the slightest hesitation when it comes to razing any potential obstacle encountered by the sonic shockwave they have constructed.
With "Antithesis," Origin confirms the positive aspects already evident in their previous three albums, yet they manage the challenging feat of pushing even beyond the complexity center of the compositions, leaving one baffled, astonished at how it is possible to conceive and play in such an obsessively furious and frenzied way without ever missing a beat. Kudos.
