I'm not shooting at you at all, Anderson, I love Bowie’s stuff up to "Ziggy," then that's it! Even "Heroes" never grabbed me.

It’s true that a reviewer shouldn’t be rigid or radical in their attitude towards an album; they should tolerate sensitivities and viewpoints different from their own, etc. But writing means giving oneself, exposing oneself, wishing to influence and engage others with what one feels and believes. This implies taking a stance, making a precise judgment, ultimately giving a rating, especially if the subject of the writing is particularly close to one’s heart (or is, conversely, a burning, painful disappointment). Many reviews are beautiful, even if exaggerated and disordered, for the passion, the heart they convey from the person who wrote them.

You settle for very little... in the pop-rock landscape of the last forty years, there is much better. Getting so worked up over a group of decent musicians, commendably long-lasting, but with a more than mediocre substance is a waste of time and energy. I hope you will reconsider in the future.
