The Beatles Abbey Road
Voto:
Abbey Road is a great album, but it has some fillers. The suite on the second side is a jumble of their leftovers, or rather verses that hadn’t found their chorus and vice versa. Many consider the idea brilliant, while others, including myself, see it as a trick to avoid actually finishing a song properly. The fact is, they no longer supported each other; each one composed, arranged, and performed their own pieces, aided by Ringo on drums. There was Apple, with its messes draining their energy and time, and then rock was taking over the world, while they, a pure pop group, tried to adapt sometimes successfully (Come Together) and sometimes missing the mark (the guitar solos exchanging leads... when there were Led Zeppelin II, Let It Bleed, Zappa, Santana around...). It’s a shame for Harrison, who after years of being in the background was in full creative form and wrote two of the three best songs of the bunch. He would soon unleash all the pent-up talent oppressed by the two "bosses" in the remarkable "All Things Must Pass". My favorite Beatles album is Rubber Soul.
Toto Falling In Between

I Toto annoy many, especially those who can't stand the overachiever, the one who's always in the know, precise and punctual. The one who only brings satisfaction to the teacher. But when the overachiever doesn't show off, doesn't act all high and mighty, and is always willing to help, then if you continue to hate him, it's nothing but envy, irritation, an inferiority complex. The Toto are amazing; the time of plenty passed long ago for them yet they keep playing and making records, and there are still people out there stubbornly clinging to the notion that they are just a bunch of well-paid mercenaries controlled by who knows what manager. They're people with guts, good, serious, and straight on their path. Whether melodic rock and AOR interest you or not is another story. The utmost respect.

Great voice. Great ego. Completely correct and explanatory review.
Mia Martini La Musica Che Mi Gira Intorno

Horrendous the ostracism towards her, from industry insiders, in the '80s. "At least you in the universe" is a tremendous interpretation.

I can understand your point of view, Bjork. I suppose your passion for music is all instinct and emotion; you listen and see colors, landscapes, and I don't know what else, but everything that is technique, skill, dexterity, and even history, historical framing, stylistic categorization seems dry and pointless to you. Because music is communication, an outlet, an expansion of one's being, support and refuge, realization and sublimation, and the supreme form of socialization. But you know, it is also school, a slow and constant learning process, practice for those who actually make music beyond just listening to it. Talking about fast-moving fingers, Gibson guitars, and Emerson being better/worse than Wakeman is a passionate activity just like the evocative images of this or that music, believe me. Taking both to the extreme, being completely abstract or wholly focused on the act of playing—i.e., plucking, striking, blowing, beating musical instruments—is an incomplete, dry, and limiting approach. This isn't a review for those like you; it's clear you won't like it, and it's your right to let me know. Regarding the fact that you also mention my name; who do you think you are and how dare you! Go f*** yourself!

Imprecise, sensationalistic, vulgar without being trashy, fascist-like, arrogant, ignorant, presumptuous, a tremendous load of rubbish.

I have always considered "Fragile" to be significantly inferior to the two absolute masterpieces that precede and follow it in Yes' discography. Of the five personal "interludes" of the musicians, I only love Howe's, while I do not share the acclaim for "...Sunrise"; I find it a bit cumbersome, not very fluid, somewhat bloated... the rest is exceptional.
