Led Zeppelin In Through The Out Door
Voto:
I'm only reading the review now. Impeccable, very well done.
The James Gang Live In Concert
Voto:
Lord "Hotel California" completely lacks freshness, spontaneity, joy in composing, playing, and singing. The tensions within the group, especially Henley's neurosis—a talented yet fussy, obsessive, chronically dissatisfied individual—cast a false, unpleasant, and sad veneer over all the work. Today, it is much more enjoyable to listen to records like the one above, genuine and made in a rush, true photographs of the situation at that moment, without overthinking and mental gymnastics.
Triumph Allied Forces

Nice catch. Emmett is a great guitarist. Be careful, Levine is the (mustachioed) bassist, the drummer (and singer) is Moore.

Welcome Hetzer. I take advantage of your (very good) review to make a note about the punk issue. You also describe punk as an epochal revolution in the opening of your work... a tide that swept everything away and changed everything... Know that it's not true; punk hasn't swept away anything, it has only placed itself alongside the rest of rock without erasing anything. Today we revere most of the historical bands "erased" by punk in the late seventies.
Mark Knopfler And Emmylou Harris Real Live Roadrunning (Cd+Dvd)
Voto:
I compare Mark's career to Sting's. A dazzling start, everyone’s unconditional esteem, then maturity... so much money... and the music becomes increasingly bland, as if distancing oneself from rock is a mark of merit and refinement. No thanks. As for Emmylou, a pitch-perfect singer with (in my opinion) an unappetizing country style.
Stephen Stills Right By You
Voto:
Don, those controversial sentences were directed at those who judge Stills superficially, certainly not at you and the other experts who frequent the site. I also mean to refer to the less experienced in my reviews, whenever I remember... and to "beat the drum," so to speak, with those who are willing to be influenced, perhaps with some rough remarks, which end up being a drop in tone for people like you. Your reviews on the Buffalo are excellent. Bye.
Genesis Selling England By The Pound

In the long instrumental escape in 7/8 of "Cinema Show," only three play (in the Gabriel era): Collins and Rutherford accompany Banks' solo, with Rutherford playing the electric 12-string in the first part and the bass in the second part.
Mike Tramp's White Lion Last Roar
Voto:
I’ll try to tell you Shooting: you don’t like the singer, how he develops the vocal lines... those somewhat whiny choruses... the songwriting a bit wooden, not very musical. Personally, when I listen to them, I can't wait for Bratta's solo to come in, often surprising, very dynamic.
Ten Years After Ten Years After

We think the same way. At least regarding the Pact. About the tiritere that erupted up here, in my opinion, it is justified to get upset against those who dismiss rock blues as nonsense, but it is immature to bicker over the specific weight of a cover on a bootleg. Words are important and heavy, always, when they are in written form. One should then strive to be diplomatic and count to ten before replying, because any aggressive statement, put down in black and white, can irritate anyone.

I don’t hold anything against you.
