Spike Lee Do The Right Thing
Voto:
There is so much to say about this film, where it’s never clear which side to take, who is right and who is not. Spike Lee has always sparked debate precisely because he says uncomfortable truths, he doesn’t take the easy route of feel-good sentiment; that’s why I like him.
Ken Loach Il Vento Che Accarezza L'Erba
Voto:
Saw it yesterday. Partly because I love the Irish, partly because I hate the English (pompous, drunken bastards...), partly because it’s a great story, and partly because Loach is Loach, I really liked this film a lot. It’s a contender for best film of 2006.
Siouxsie and the Banshees Join Hands
Voto:
As already mentioned lately, Siouxsie deserves more attention: a great performer and one of the first to do dark. Anyway, I admit that I don’t have this album yet, but I’ve had my eye on it for a while, so I’ll try to get it as soon as possible. Great review.
Ron Howard Il Codice Da Vinci
Voto:
horrible (and I even went to see it at the cinema, for the sake of "how to throw money down the drain"). Dan Brown is quite the clever one: he wrote an awful novel, filled with nonsense, and managed to get frightening publicity and not a small amount of cash.
Siouxsie & the Banshees The Scream
Voto:
Beautiful The Scream, but, due to the more complex compositions, I definitely prefer Juju, which I consider a masterpiece. I'm sorry that the queen of dark is so underrated; in fact, she deserves more attention, even just for songs like Overground.
Jim Sharman The Rocky Horror Picture Show
Voto:
a beautiful musical, even if it's kitsch to the point of being scary. "touch me, i wanna be dirty..."
Giuseppe Tornatore La Leggenda Del Pianista Sull'Oceano
Voto:
In short, Tornatore has never seemed to me the great director he wants to be believed, while the film ultimately turns out to be boring and some scenes are ridiculous. There would also be something to say about Baricco...
Peter Weir Gallipoli
Voto:
great film. the final scene is anthology-worthy.
Red Hot Chili Peppers Stadium Arcadium
Voto:
I agree with Bisius, a maximum of 2.5. Money has gone to their heads too.
