I pretty much like everything by Incubus up to Morning View (including it, despite a couple of weaker tracks). They are a band that, all things considered, has managed to evolve without making too many mistakes; not many of those who were at the peak in the mid-'90s have been able to do that. I gave "A Crow Left Of The Murder" a chance; it’s nice, well-made but too weak... I never understood why they let the previous bassist go. Great review, nonetheless.

Phidias, for that it's more than enough Christiane F., I don't think it's about that. On the contrary, the film of Christiane F. worked precisely because, unlike these Hollywood releases, it didn’t have overambitious realistic claims (visually speaking, I know it’s autobiographical) and relied on the drama.

I haven't seen the film because the mere presence of Jared Leto causes me diarrhea, vomiting, and hives. The review, however, is excellent, a perfect takedown, well-argued and enjoyable to read.

In my opinion, there is a difference between Hard Boiled and Noir: in Hard Boiled there must be a Marlowe, just to be clear, Noir can be many other things instead.
