I know them, I know them, the doubt was rather because only I know them... apart from the aforementioned exceptions. I mostly know Zen Arcade and New Day Rising; I've already expressed my thoughts on the former elsewhere, while I need to listen to the latter more closely. Today, which is a shit day that couldn’t be any shittier, I pulled out Zen Arcade. I really like it.

@Ugly Panda: this year I turn 23. I don't think all of those who posted below are in their forties. @Fedee, Scaruffi, and Wikipedia I took for granted since I probably belong there too and I don't even know it.

I personally have also been close to straight edge (I don't know if it's a breaking instinct or a need for belonging). Personally, given the context in which it was born, I see nothing reactionary about it; in fact, even today I see it as a rather progressive stance. I don't see any connection with far-right fringes that undoubtedly exist in the vast world of hardcore. I think that episodes of pseudo-squadrist violence and intolerance in a movement that was born committed like straight edge are marginal, or at least I hope so.

The reviewer knows what they are talking about, explanatory and in-depth page; an author and work of great importance, an institution not only in the comic book realm but also culturally. It's been ages since I last read them.
