Chris Barnes really gets on my nerves.

Sure, Thayer does what he does well, but I believe that if he had to play more complex pieces, I doubt he would manage. Then the strange thing is that he's not a guitarist who has played with just anyone, so I thought Kiss would look for someone with a more substantial resume. However, I have to say that at least he has the modesty not to play what he can't handle, like on the "Rock the Nations" DVD where he doesn't play the second part of the "Tears Are Falling" solo, because I believe he really can't, since that part was played by Bruce Kulick, who is a great guitarist and, in my opinion, the most technical one Kiss has ever had. I haven't heard Vinnie Vincent Invasion, but I'll see about getting something.

Shooting star, you’re right, the original lineup of Kiss is extremely charismatic. However, Tommy Thayer and Vinnie Vincent are not exactly what I would call great musicians.

What? For you, grave digger, it was Iron Maiden and Motorhead who invented metal? And what did Judas Priest or Black Sabbath do? Also, just because a band is successful doesn’t mean they’re good, and it’s too easy to play a genre that a lot of other bands are already playing instead of trying to create something new.
