But is it serious that I've never listened to anything by Nightwish? Is it power metal as I understand it? Because just the word power leaves in my mouth that phlegmy aftertaste you have right after waking up from smoking 20 cigarettes the day before...

I was there at the concert too, and it didn't seem like anyone appreciated it. To be honest, I wasn't blown away by Sherwood either; I expected something more, especially from some of the tracks he played. Since you also like NIN, know that Sherwood produced them early in his career. And come on, don’t underestimate yourself; if you listen to NIN, you already have a grasp on electronic music :)

So we were a lot..! I started off very prejudiced, but the concert turned out to be a pleasant surprise.. Mexicola and Song For The Deaf were incredible. If anyone wants to trash the qotsa, go comment on the albums (like I did with Era Vulgaris, by the way), because here we’re talking about a concert. Absolutely great.
Two downsides: Lanegan (where are you?) and the price at 6 euros (screw that).

Guys, we weren't actually that few under the stage.. Great concert, really amazing. It's just a shame about Lanegan..
Muse Live @ Piazzale Michelangelo, Firenze 30.05.07

The Muse kind of suck, maybe they're good live... I saw them some time ago during the excellent debut and I really enjoyed their live show. Now they're done; they alternate colossal cheesy moments with very few ideas. Matt, you really don't know how to use the synth.

Hi Kosmogabri, I'm sorry but I don't have the link.. here I have 56k and I can't find it again, I was in London when I saw it :( anyway, they were snippets of studio recordings of Songs, where Josh was giving cues to Dave..
Back to the album.. I've listened to it and listened to it again to try to find some inspiration, some sudden twist.. result: a flat, motionless record, even banal in many parts (see Into the Hollow, as predictable as I never Came from lullabies.. only that while the latter had no particular pretensions, the former seems to be one of the cornerstones of the new work.. oh dear). The featuring for its own sake doesn't exist in the desert sessions and the results are (thankfully) quite different; There are those who know how to do the One Man Band even after 18 years of career (see Renznor and his latest work) and those who don't.. Dear Cotechino, I only ask one thing for tonight.. make us dance!

Such a shame. Listened to it today and I'm really disappointed; right now I'm reevaluating lullabies, which says a lot. I think working with Josh Homme is frustrating for many artists, since the Red Despot seems more interested in the name itself rather than the actual contribution to the qotsa cause: I saw a video of the recording sessions for Songs For The Deaf on YouTube and the Red one is commanding Dave Grohl "with a baton" on the drumming of a track... Well, you can guess why Olivieri told him to fuck off... he must have had his good reasons! Anyway, I'll be at Alcatraz on Monday to see them, who’s coming?

I'm another idiot because I really didn't understand what you meant, Layne... Relax a bit, someone (like me) from your statement understood that you were criticizing the tools..

The AC/DC album I like the least... from the Bon Scott era, just to be clear! Come on, Bonny, if 91 isn't your actual age, don't pummel a fellow nearly your age :)
