This five-star thing based on boredom seems like complete nonsense to me. You're concise, and I don't blame you; the ability to be succinct is often an art. New review.

I want to be honest: I’m not crazy about this album. Maybe it’s because it’s too slow, or maybe it’s because I can't play it in my CD player since the geniuses who reissued it added "anti-piracy" software that even prevents playback on certain systems. Anyway, every band does what they want, evolves when they want and when they can. Just because Metallica have worked more on their songwriting since Ride the Lightning doesn’t mean all bands are obligated to follow them. For example, I think Slayer even regressed (in terms of songwriting) with RIB compared to Hell Awaits or Show No Mercy, but that album is a punch in the face and goes down in history. Even Megadeth might not have been interested in "evolving," or maybe they just weren't able to. The fact is that this is a good album and it’s also original. The fact that I prefer "Darkness Descends" or "Pleasure to Kill" (both contemporaneous) is just a matter of personal taste.
