The fact is that there are people who think that noteworthy musicians or singers are only those who experiment and bring something new, no matter what that may be. Thus, Pearl Jam, who have made great music without inventing anything, are seen as a commercial band, etc. Many guys want to act cool and alternative on this site, feeling the need to show that they know more than others, that they are familiar with some band or some different musical movement. Judging a band solely for the music they have made and not for a thousand other bullshit would be WAY too banal for some.
