1) I never said I preferred the lyrics of one over the other, but simply that Cornell wrote better lyrics when he was in Soundgarden than he does now with Audioslave. 2) First you say "Cornell's lyrics are no better than Zack de la Rocha's," and then you say "I prefer Cornell's lyrics (especially the masterpieces from Superunknown or Down on the Upside) much more introspective and 'artistic'." I believe you got a bit mixed up. 3) I absolutely don't think politics poisons music, and besides, he doesn't only talk about that; he expresses his own way of seeing things, which transcends the political factor.

Yes dear Gemma, but in RATM Tom Morello uses the guitar in a way that the Audioslave wouldn't even dream of, and also Cornell's lyrics, compared to those of Soundgarden, are a whole different story (in a negative way, of course...). Knowing a bit more about those two bands might help you realize how significant the step backward has been for all the members of the band, who clearly aren't able to give their best this way. Provided they still have anything to give. By the way, does anyone happen to have news about De La Rocha??

Oh no, dear Iside, this is not prejudice; it's one thing to say that rap sucks, considering that the person saying it certainly doesn't know all the rap music produced in the world, and another thing to say that this person is an asshole: I haven't attacked an entire genre but just a character who made money singing silly and pointless little songs; then there are those who know how to do it well, but it certainly doesn't seem to be the case here.
