Oasis Don't Believe The Truth

Many find it terribly annoying that this album, an excellent example of intense and mature pop-rock, is achieving success and a certain recognition even from alternative circuits (Rockit forums and Mucchio, just to name a couple) and from the ever-hostile American press (3.5 stars from Rolling Stone)... Sometimes it happens that a band that seemed on the verge of fading away delivers an inspired album, with simple and moving songs. Why ask for experimentation and originality from a band that doesn't have them in their repertoire? Why are the best albums always the ones that innovate? And who said that?

Derivative and unoriginal Oasis? Absolutely yes, and what's the harm in that? Perhaps the Interpol, the Strokes, or the Kasabian aren't? What interests me is that a band makes me feel emotions, excitement, or exhilaration, and the Oasis know how to do it; the rest is just bar chatter.

The innovative Band equation = exceptional band eccEzionale is not always true.

I don't understand; Oasis partially modify their sound, making it "new," somewhat different from the past, creating enjoyable songs that are easy to listen to (is it perhaps a crime?)... and they get slaughtered once again? They propose an album that is very Britpop, to be honest a bit bland like HC? Slaughtered. They confuse fans with the timid experiments of Standing? Slaughtered, whatever they do is not good enough for you, yet they are still on the scene and a bit of respect for their fans (who are not all padsdaran) seems like the least you could give.

I agree, very well said! The Oasis saved us from the experimentalist drift.

Well, this is a fantastic album that will change many minds...intense and inspired, excellently arranged...you can hear the Doves, the Kings, the Who, and the inevitable Beatles; the sound is a bit darker, but this overall benefits the final product, solid and robust, with few weak points...Five stars for Noel's three tracks, sheer class, the press already seems euphoric, WELCOME BACK, GUYS!!!

Absolutely essential.
Oasis (What's the Story) Morning Glory?

An album that makes you feel and pisses in the face of all the bands with The in front and not just those released after '96.

Disappointing, light-years behind Senza Peso. Thumbs down.
