Well, if I hadn't been there, perhaps you would have given up on this review and wouldn't have had fun! Am I right? Anyway, since you asked me, I’ll give you a brief answer: Nirvana are considered alternative, but I don’t think they really are; it’s all nonsense... If Cobain shot himself because he was depressed that MTV had made him too mainstream, it means he was an idiot, because he was the one who wanted all of this to happen... He did everything he could to make it happen... And don’t say no, just think about how they would go on TV shows or do interviews whenever asked, and they did it gladly! I don’t doubt that they were rock icons and that the grunge movement was very important... But they are not great musicians (how can you say they played "well"?) and they are not "alternative," as they wanted to make us believe (by the way, if you want to discuss this further, come to the chat now)... I know better than you who Mr. Fred Durst is; with Limp Bizkit, he shaped (with the first two great albums) what is the "nu metal sound" (by the way, one of my favorite genres), and then he thought it would be a good idea to ruin himself and disregard music, only focusing on money and his bank account... Anyway, I also think Puddle of Mudd and Nickelback suck (but also Cold and other people) for the same reasons you do (by the way, have you listened to that band I recommended?)... What I don’t get is that you still define grunge as an "alternative" genre; well, think what you want, but in my opinion, you’ve got ham slices over your eyes... Remember that not all hip hop is commercial stuff, and neither is the "whatever you want to call it" genre of Fred Durst (it's pure ignorance not to know that Durst does nu metal) (unless you exclude garbage bands like Linkin Park, Hoobastank, or Crazy Town)... Anyway, I want to reiterate that this is a site where one reviews what they want, and there are no professional reviewers... And then the fact that you say that I "don’t have the means" to review post-grunge, I don’t agree with and I don’t understand, but what do you know? I only expressed my opinion, which can be as contestable as it is shareable; I didn’t use any biases, and do I know post-grunge?... I’ll give you some advice, listen to other stuff besides these grungy groups, and you’ll see that you’ll put the Seether CD on the shelf forever... Bye!
