Not bad at all.
This highly anticipated solo debut by the former Frankestein Drag Queens and current Murderdolls frontman Wednesday 13 is a lethal mix of punk, metal, and glam fused in a horror and ironic setting, excellent vampire-slaying Horror-core composed of simple but very direct riffs.
A highly catchy album that is overall enjoyable, with a good rhythm section accompanied by Wednesday's excellent rasp. The nods to the genre's spokespersons are all there, particularly Rob Zombie, whose influence is evident, then Alice Cooper, Misfits, and finally a Mansonian vein. In short, a theatrical scenario that Wednesday has accustomed us to for some time, drawing on an old-school horror style that's gruesome and dark but, in the end, never takes itself completely seriously.
Perhaps we are not in the presence of a perfect album, but it nonetheless offers good rock'n'roll done right, which, after all, is not always easy to find.
