Let's temporarily set aside the fact that metal is the ultimate anti-music. The album is the usual mishmash of distorted guitars to the point of absurdity, screaming, and all the other features that characterize this pseudo-music. Simply unbearable from start to finish, and I add that it takes a lot of courage to give this abomination a beautiful four-star rating. How can you dismantle an indispensable album like The Book Of Love in this way? Can you explain it to me? I'm sorry Grasshopper, but I can't let you get away with this. It's a brilliant album in its thoughtfulness, with a few touches of Jazz (actually, even free-jazz if I'm allowed to stretch the definition a bit). Diana's vocalizations are essential, especially considering the era to which this album belongs. Much better than what most of you think.
