An absolutely badass band. Saw them live in '93 (damn, almost 20 years ago) in Bologna as the opening act for Primus. It's a shame hardly anyone knows them.

Van Halen A Different Kind Of Truth

My expectations for this album were at zero. Yet I had to rethink them. I couldn't care less that many tracks (or so they say) are outtakes from previous records and old demos. Eddie is on top form (but I had no doubts about him), and David Lee Roth is incredibly up to the task (in my opinion, Hagar has always been ten steps ahead of him vocally). Even the new Van Halen lineup (Eddie's chubby son) holds his own on bass. In short, a great rock album. And these days, we really need one.

Ike Willis singing "Fabiana Inculamorti" is worth a 5 by itself.

A fantastic album. But I reserve the 5 for "King for a day fool for a lifetime."

In fact, when I think of a concept album, I think of this or Tales from Topographic Oceans by Yes.
