Great review; however, you overlooked an important detail: namely that the film is an adaptation of a story by the great Richard Matheson (who also wrote the screenplay). So, kudos to Spielberg for this great film, but the credit is not entirely his.

Orwell, look, this film didn't cost that much... there are at most ten actors, it's all done on the computer, there are no extras; it cost a fraction of the budget spent for Gladiator.

Perhaps the most legendary horror film of all time. Tradition has it that the bosses at MGM, shocked by the rawness of the scenes, wildly cut the film (hence the brief duration of the movie). Among all, Schlitze is the freak that impressed me the most.
