we're not on the same page: if for you this "is not a film worthy of being called that," it seems you've seen very few trash films. Because this is the legendary masterpiece of Troma, emblematic of its entire production, whose merits are to have created a fantastically alternative cinema to Hollywood, independent, provocative (plenty of blood, drugs, and sex) and anti-American (the critiques of American society are a constant). A classic of the genre. (If you've seen it in Italian, you've watched the cut version where several splatter scenes are missing).

look, Saw4 doesn’t exist (for now), you reviewed the 3! Anyway, I didn’t find it that terrible; all in all, it seemed better than the 2. There’s more gore here, and the plot is more intricate than before (interesting how it connects to the other episodes in the series). The soundtrack is pretty badass too (Helmet, Ministry, Meshuggah, Mastodon, etc.).

You and me and me and Luna everywhere (x2) / my rain will take us away with it / but now sleep me so close to you like my nothing colored purple / at the bottom (x8) / Chorus: I'm simple outside of me like one of your angels / she falls like a boring lesbian (x8) / you are in nothing, at the bottom / there's your fragile spin without your creme caramel- weak fans (x6) / I don't collapse like this anymore (x4) / Chorus: I'm simple outside of me like one of your angels / because I find a fear in the blue (x7)

For me, Big Fish is a rather mediocre film; it has its good moments (few), but unfortunately, it is smothered by an excess of niceness that ultimately becomes quite cloying. It lacks (or they are too watered down) all the typical characteristics of Burton's style that made me love it: where's the gothic? where has the subtly unsettling vein of Beetlejuice and Batman gone? Or the biting irony of Ed Wood and Mars Attacks? In the end, Big Fish is nothing more than a little fairy tale like Forrest Gump, far below the masterpieces that Burton is (was) capable of.

And this would be one of the ugliest films in the history of cinema?! Setting aside your silly critiques like "incredible violence" and "but doesn't anyone think of the children?" (who are you, the president of the authority?), one must admit that the film is not without its flaws (even if it seems you didn't notice them); it remains nonetheless a captivating dark fairy tale with a gothic flavor, featuring some well-timed incursions into horror, designed as a critique of the Franco regime (and an explicit homage to Alice in Wonderland). Does it seem strange to you that it won the Oscar for makeup? Perhaps you didn’t realize that, instead of the usual cold computer graphics, the animatronic technique was used (with excellent results), creating a showcase of absolutely mesmerizing creatures. You were probably disappointed because you expected some sort of Harry Potter, but instead you found yourself faced with a film of a very different depth, a thousand times better than the mediocre Big Fish.

The first listen is traumatic! It's not like everything is to be thrown away; there are some good ideas, but I simply can't stand Homme's falsetto voice and the excessive amount of melodic backing vocals. And then too many, too many keyboards...

I believe you recorded the second one, since the first is dubbed in Italian while the second is only available with subtitles (it has not been released in Italy).
