a classic
Paul Verhoeven L'Uomo Senza Ombra
Voto:
Verhoeven is definitely not a hack, but this film is one of the worst he has ever made.
Daniele Luchetti Mio Fratello E' Figlio Unico
Voto:
a concentrate of stereotypes and clichés. A merely sketchy reconstruction of a terribly complex historical period, and the story suffers from a dramatic exaggeration that is laughable. Actors that can only be described as subpar (and as if that weren't enough, the camera "gifts" us an unbearable string of close-ups of the protagonists' pretty faces). A truly pointless film.
Richard C.Sarafian Vanishing Point (Punto Zero)

wanting even Cani Arrabbiati by Mario Bava, very nasty, it is more or less a road movie
Edgar Wright L'Alba Dei Morti Dementi (Shaun of the Dead)
Voto:
A film that really surprised me; I thought it was just the usual nonsense, but I had to change my mind after watching it: absolutely hilarious without being stupid, packed with "horrific" references (tributes to Romero, Fulci, even the Goblin...) and there's also some well-done splatter. Genius!
Pedro Almodòvar La Mala Educaciòn
Voto:
Muffin, start with the old stuff which is definitely the best. I recommend (in order of preference) "The Discreet Charm of Sin," "What Have I Done to Deserve This?" or "Matador," which I believe are his absolute masterpieces. Today's Almodóvar (even though he continues to make good films) is just a shadow of what he was at the beginning of his career.

other remarkable road movies: Stranger Than Paradise, Faster Pussycat Kill! Kill!, Mad Max (the first and the second), Leningrad Cowboys, and Il Bandito E La Madama. La Macchina Nera is not a road movie, but it is really beautiful and it always involves cars (also this one heavily pillaged by Tarantino).
Ralph Nelson Soldato Blu
Voto:
an outstanding film; I prefer it over "A Man Called Horse" and "Little Big Man," but still, all three are masterpieces
