mutosalutismo you really shot yourself in the foot... rap doesn’t have to be your thing, but if you don’t know anything about it, avoid spitting out judgments, because no one wants to "convert" you against your will.

Steven Spielberg Minority Report

Despicable trivialization of Dick's beautiful story, turned into a typical Hollywood action movie. Spielberg proves once again to be the Midas King of shit.

Come on, what are you talking about? Hardcore in Italy has never disappeared, and saying that social centers have closed due to the spread of the posse is just nonsense; if anything, they have benefited from it. We're talking about Onda Rossa Posse, Ak47, L.H.P., Assalti Frontali, not some Piotta...
Terry Gilliam Tideland - Il Mondo Capovolto

Orwell, this is certainly not a masterpiece, but The Brothers Grimm is flat, predictable, and shot in a rather impersonal style, to the point that it doesn't even feel like a Gilliam film. Much better is this Tideland, based on a novel that seems written specifically for him to make a film.

After the (very) unconvincing Brothers Grimm, Gilliam finally makes a film worthy of him (which is from 2005, but was released here in 2007). A beautiful surreal fairy tale, disorienting, hallucinatory, with grotesque and almost horror undertones (drugs, necrophilia, and pedophilia: practically Alice in Wonderland with a morbid twist). Jeff Bridges is also outstanding in the role of the decadent rocker.

for me SxM by Sangue Misto is unattainable, but this remains a milestone nonetheless. There's the title track which is the strong piece, the Sangue Misto ante litteram, but I prefer Zero Stress, darker and more experimental. <<...a journey inside the other where I always leave and then I can't find myself/ I disrupt my respiratory system/ zero occasional smoker...>> Bom Cilomo is Gruff's masterpiece!
Darren Aronofsky Requiem for a Dream

this film is a nice empirical demonstration of Murphy's law, basically a treatise on bad luck. Anyway, I enjoyed it (even if less than the beautiful Pgreco), especially for the director's skill in effectively portraying the altered states of the characters (the part where you see the old woman having hallucinations in front of the TV really made me feel sick). You all probably already know this, but I'll say it anyway: there's also a cameo by Hubert Selby Jr, the author of the book from which the film is adapted, playing the old prison guard tormenting Tyrone.

Melissa, if you're interested in an overview of Roky's (vast) solo discography, get your hands on "I Have Always Been Here Before," which is a beautiful anthology (43 songs on 2 CDs). It's worth it.
