A great band, a band that during that period had lyrics and dimensions different from classic punk and hardcore........
Visceral, dirty, and just the right amount of sick........
Perhaps few in music seek the true sense of anguish and abandonment, but these lyrics, in a shithole country like ours, are incredible....

Dragon Ball is definitely good, even though I fondly remember the first part made on Junior TV in the 90s... you also made a good ranking...
I would also mention Yattaman and all their sagas... they were a cult throughout the 80s and 90s... I would also point out the masterpieces of Leiji Matsumoto, from Danguard to Starzinger to Captain Harlock, and others that taught us kids the desire to venture beyond our borders, especially Galaxy...
And then the sports manga and anime, from Tom the star of the Giants to Pat the female basketball player... to Jenny the tennis player...
Ranma ½ (with Ryoga as a hilarious character and the old Apposai), and so much more...
Today there’s little around, in my opinion, the crisis began in 1996 with Pokémon and continued with Yu-Gi-Oh (let’s play cards to save the Earth) and ended up with nonsense like Fancy Lala, Doremi, and various crap...
There’s something out there, but you have to go into the manga, like Alita the Cyborg (it’s a remarkable series), Berserk by Kentaro Miura, Shutendoji by Nagai, Sōten no Ken isn’t bad, maybe rediscover Osamu Tezuka with Black Jack... the problem for me is that I’ve remained attached to the usual titles...
Naruto isn’t bad, especially some stories like that of Gaara.

Cyborg 009,
Rocky Joe...

mechader had a not-so-great graphics, it wasn't the pinnacle of style... The stories didn’t impress me much... SURELY THE TRIDER G7 IS BETTER. I was also very struck by the story of the cyborgs 009, even though they weren't big robots... As you can see, I am particularly impressed by the plots, and the more schizoide the drawings are, the more I like them (I’m thinking of the first Nagai, in short).

I would say, but the fundamental thing about Mao Dante is indeed the pathos; only Nagai could have done something like this...
Moving away from the Go Nagai discussion, I wanted to ask if you like the author Leiji Matsumoto... what do you think of Danguard? I liked it a lot; how about you?

It reminds me of something, even if it's a very distant memory... What do you think more specifically about the theme of god-demon? In Mao Dante, the story of Sodom and Gomorrah is for the mentally ill. Demoni (Mao Dante) - Wikipedia Here it is, read it; it's crazy.

Whether it's splatter or not, much of Nagai's material is true, but his stories have an extra gear because there are characters studied in every tiny detail. Think of Ryo from Devilman, or Koji Kabuto from Mazinsaga, or Akira... Who can question whether evil or good exists by observing these characters? This is typical of Nagai... I also love Matsumoto and his Captain Harlock, Danguard, and the entire deep universe of Starzinger... These were great adventure mangas; in fact, I think the '70s belong to Nagai and Matsumoto.
