The dreamy atmospheres of Miyazaki sometimes captivate me, but sometimes they just irritate me (take the latest one about the fool who wants to build airplanes, goodness), so much so that among my favorites in the genre is "Grave of the Fireflies," which is pure discomfort. You've kind of let the syntax take a nap, huh? ;)

Meh. After "Nati da altri padri" (which remains beautiful), it seems to me that Raein have comfortably rested on their laurels (aided by the unconditional veneration for the obvious merits of the old days and the desire for emulation they've triggered in 9/10 of the young people who take up playing "screamo" nowadays), and this little disc is a clear demonstration of that. I don't expect them to suddenly start doing free jazz, but at least they could change the harmonic progressions, for goodness' sake. It also seems poorly mixed to me, with volumes randomly spiking here and there. In any case, they've reached that particular status where they could even release a record of fart sounds with their armpits and everyone would still get excited about it. For me, it remains a big MEH. <3
