Procol Harum A Salty Dog

Anyway, "a salty dog" is a good example of proto-progressive (it would soon arrive "in the court" and things got a "little" complicated).

I agree with Zarathustra, the thing isn't clear to me either. The review is provocative but pleasant.

Of Beck, I only know what I've seen on MTV or satellite channels. He's a great musician. I'm not sure if I've listened to this particular album (I'll make sure to get it), I honestly don't remember the titles, but what I've listened to and seen I liked, so my vote goes to what I know of Beck.

No Dave, I don't want you to listen to me, for goodness' sake. If I implied that, I assure you it wasn't my intention. In fact, you know more about Pink Floyd by now, I believe; you've learned many more things about them in a short time than I have in 30 years. As you can see, I'm not as cruel and ignorant as some would like to think.

Regarding the Italian music scene, I really love Bluvertigo and I'm sorry they didn't get the recognition they deserved. I doubt Subsonica have achieved that level of success; just look on P2P and see how little material there is on Morgan and his companions. Most people I've had listen to them in the past thought they were terrible, especially the lyrics that didn't talk about just sun, pizza, and Marco who left. Serves me right! I had the arrogance to try to change someone's taste.

With what I have said, I wanted to express that one should give an opinion on an artist, setting aside personal tastes and beliefs. It’s pointless for me to comment, just to make an example, on a Madonna album, thinking about how much I like Genesis. It’s absurd. It’s hard to let go of preconceptions, I know, but one must try.

ehehehe nonnismo, nice term. No, age doesn't matter. For example, I have a saxophonist friend, he's 24, and there's so much I can learn from him when it comes to music. Sometimes we judge an album or an artist outside of their context and make absurd comparisons. The Delta V are a band in the Italian rock scene, which is what it is; there are definitely artists who are much better than the Delta V but go unnoticed.
Madonna Something To Remember
Voto:
Madonna is one of the few uplifting examples of musical evolution from its origins. At a certain point in her career, she realized that without proper preparation and progression in terms of quality—relying only on publicity and her typical crowd-pleasing "gimmicks"—she couldn’t go on, that it wouldn’t last. Her voice was non-existent and her concerts left much to be desired. With Erotica and this album, she began a journey toward maturity; she took singing lessons, in short, she “worked hard,” unlike other colleagues who remained mediocre and repetitive and have justly faded into obscurity. I admire this woman who has made questionable choices and those of dubious taste, whose music can even be off-putting because it's simply pop or refined dance; a woman who is indeed egocentric and excessive but who has undeniably had the humility to recognize her own limits and improve herself, risking the loss of many of her fans attached to catchy songs like "Material Girl" or "Papa Don’t Preach." And anyway, "Ray of Light" remains her best album, in my opinion.
