Afterhours Il Paese E' Reale

I’m also a long-time fan of Afterhours, I’ve seen them in concert a ton of times. Your review holds up pretty well... I also consider "il paese è reale" to be an excellent song, both in terms of lyrics and "music," and I was quite relieved after seeing them perform as "themselves" on that crappy stage, with Manuel's idea of selling his ass after 25 years of a career that slowly seemed to evaporate. The only thing I really don't understand as a long-time fan is this: why do you say that for 10 years Afterhours have been feeding us absurd nonsense? What albums do we have from 1999 to today? Well, on "non è per sempre" we can agree... I consider it the worst album by Afterhours even though it contains some incredible gems (oppio, l'estate, oceano di gomma are enough?), "siam tre piccoli porcellini" I believe is one of the best live albums that have circulated in Italy, "quello che non c'è" is a concept album about sadness and suffering, it's deep and beautiful, "ballate per piccole iene" is a great album that, at least for me, makes one think that Afterhours should not sell out, but exploring other musical fields YES. As for the ballads, let’s just lay a pitying tarpaulin on that because they could have avoided all this staging, and we get to "i milanesi ammazzano il sabato," criticized and belittled by almost all "long-time fans." I’ll spare you the ecstatic comments that I sometimes throw at Manuel in the throes of madness, I’ll just tell you that even this latest album is innovative and sincere at 360°. It certainly isn’t their best record, but especially after "il paese è reale," I've seriously come to think that wherever Afterhours put their hands, they create great ideas and great music. Best regards.

I don't know who above said that the single does a lot of absolute zero... you really nailed it, absurd!!! The beginning scared me... the chorus isn't too bad though.

I like the review, but I don't agree about tonight which, in my opinion, is a great track.

"The first song is 'S. N. O. B. (Senza Nessun Obbligo Baciaculistico)', in which J-Ax celebrates his return by singing that, if he wanted to, he could live the high life, but he continues only out of passion; he doesn't represent a movement or a political leader to follow and mainly takes issue with the television and music of recent times, labeling it as commercial and defining himself as 'snob' towards this type of art." hahahahahahahahahahahahahhhahhahaha hahahahahahahahahahaha you’ve made my morning, what a show!

j-ax has always inspired violence in me. But lately, even more so. (maybe because I’m hearing that crap "i vecchietti fanno oooo?!?" way too often on the radio?)
