July 1992: A family composed of a father, mother, and two children rests peacefully in their home north of Stockholm. Outside, Maria, an eighteen-year-old affiliated with the satanic organization Inner Circle, douses the doors and windows with flammable liquid and sets the structure on fire. Before leaving, she plants a knife in the door with the message “The Count has been here and will return.” The family manages to escape before the flames take over, and the subsequent investigation quickly leads to Maria's arrest. Her diaries confirm her affiliation with Inner Circle, and in others, she refers to Count Grishnackh, alias Varg Vikernes. The family victimized by the attack is that of 20-year-old Christofer Johnsson, a member of the Swedish metal band Therion. Four days after the fire, Johnsson receives a letter from the Count: "Greetings, victims! I am Count Grishnackh of Burzum. I just returned from a little trip to Sweden, more specifically to a place northwest of Stockholm, and I think I lost a match and a signed Burzum record, ha ha! I will return very soon, and perhaps this time, you won't wake up in the middle of the night. I will give you a lesson in fear. We are indeed very crazy; our methods are death and torture. Our victims will die slowly; they must die slowly." The girl is hospitalized in a psychiatric facility while the Count, once apprehended, denies any connection, and the accusations against him remain unproven.

Well-articulated reception. I will never listen to the album because I like black metal little or not at all and also because it has become unappealing to me. They say that power metal is all the same; they talk about black metal and everything is fine, they sing hymns to Satan, but all black metal bands do that. But if we want to say that every power metal band talks about the same things, we must equally say the same about black bands, also noting that they are double the number of power bands...
