Iced Earth are one of my favorite bands... let’s say that before this album there are Night of the Stormrider, Burnt Offerings, Something Wicked This Way Comes, and in my opinion, also Horror Show... Schaffer is a monster with his rhythmic guitar, devastating; I really like his style (check out the riff in the middle of Angel’s Holocaust)... the last two, The Glorious Burden and the latest, don’t say much to me... maybe because Barlow is no longer around. Ripper Owen is a great singer but very far from Barlow's vocal timbre... excellent review... p.s. I’m thinking about writing a review of the latest one…

Akerfeldt is a friend of the mastermind of Katatonia, who, before doing rock, played the same genre... and Akerfeldt has always said who he was inspired by... the drummer started practicing Latin American music, since he was born in a Latin American country (if you’re referring to Martin Lopez before he was replaced)... then Opeth, as I said, are not just metal, but they did start with that...
