THE REVIEW

Infinity was formed in Italy in '99, when guitarist Fabrizio Romani, besides becoming a permanent member of Skylark, started the project by collaborating with Fabrizio Girelli (vocals), Daniele Abondio (bass), and Manuel Comensoli (keyboards).

The musical proposal is in the power metal genre.

After a brief intro, one encounters ‘Father of destiny’ which starts off strong with the riff and percussion, though they don't sound too loud; the melody then intertwines, with three passages that perfect and repeat themselves under Girelli's excellent intonation, who takes some artistic liberties with his pronunciation, and in my opinion, it works well.

The style of the lyrics is rhapsodic and essential, and it complements the melodies well. ‘Follow your dream’ starts with a riff similar to 'Sweet Child O' Mine' by Guns, here sped up; the percussion provides a good background traversed by beautiful rounded and high vocal lines.

"Infinity" is a song that starts slowly with beautiful verses, which I quote: 'I have found infinity everywhere, in the cry of a children, in the blade of a killer, in the eyes of a guiltless, imploring ask a little justice, try you to, and you'll find in a simple song...in a simple song’. It is followed by another nice riff that accelerates the song's rhythm with well-chosen intervals.

"Phoenix" comes like a bolt from the blue, an incredibly sweet melody carried by the wind so far, suddenly performed by a piano and an absolutely superb Girelli. I quote the first verses: 'When I understood, for me it was too late, it was tomorrow...when I understood...I woke up in the middle of the darkness, the horizon was only a lost desire already far...the end was near for me. But now open your eyes, and look my very inside, I am the Phoenix who born from our ash...

The following "Justice wind" somewhat abruptly removes us from the enchantment, leaving us then to 'Power symphony', ‘Destiny’, and 'You have to', in a focused power style interspersed with slow and melodic passages filled with keyboards, violins, and drums, with an even ecclesiastical atmosphere.

In conclusion, the Milanese band, of power metal lovers, delivers a high-level product, inevitably influenced by the leaders of this sector, Stratovarius and Gamma Ray.
