"Anyway, I want to understand what kind of guys I'm talking to, if there's a chance for us to understand each other or if we live in different worlds, which would be fine with me since I've long stopped believing that we can actually listen to each other... the fact is that I respond, but no one listens to me; they just provoke me." ---> "What a pessimist you are, more pessimistic than I am. In my opinion, what you might not understand is that you're talking to kids who are more disillusioned than you, who are a few years younger than you, to people who believe that music is truly a parallel universe, a characteristic THAT CAN SAVE. Musical sounds are abstract entities that, in themselves, do not carry human messages, but can still be a vehicle for intense emotions; it’s the abstraction of music that I adore the most, thinking about it and nothing else, its universe detached from any message other than that of music, itself and nothing else. However, you’re also right in saying that if there are lyrics, it’s right to investigate their meaning. But I’m convinced that if someone tries to communicate the things you might also be seeking in music, human (or inhuman) messages, they partly strip off their role as a musician to become something else, perhaps a poet, a sociologist, a rabble-rouser. That’s why De André wasn’t a great musician but a great poet, and Bob Dylan wasn’t a great musician but a brilliant minstrel, according to my very personal and possibly distant (from yours) opinion."

Was he killed by the Red Brigades along with Aldo Moro in 1978?

"Lord, tell me, when did rock die?" ----> It died of a heart attack after seeing that U2 referred to themselves as rock. You do the math on the year.

But do you usually check a musician's political inclinations before listening to them?

Well, in the end, I found myself agreeing with your opinion about the album, even though Porcupine Tree remains an underrated band.

I give you a 5 just for the link to the Kapuziner, whose beer will always stay in my heart and my body (until I piss it out). Kraut rock? I'm rushing to download them.
