I am also among the detractors. The fragile (so highly praised) initially amazed me, but over time I have significantly revised my judgment on the album, really falling short compared to downward spiral and Pretty hate machine. With teeth I just don’t like at all, Year Zero even less. My opinion is that as a composer he doesn’t hold much value; his ideas repeat themselves cyclically with the punctuality of a Swiss watch, and even his vocal lines aren’t very varied over time. That said, I consider downward spiral one of the best albums of the '90s, but its follow-up left me quite skeptical.

Regarding the new album set to be released in 2008, there's a demo version circulating on the internet (poor quality) that would confirm their partial return to the roots of the first album, in fact, even though I have a feeling it won't have the same magic as their debut. Honestly, the other two albums hurt my ears; they are ridiculously tacky, with much less refined sounds, and she, despite her beautiful voice, is trying too hard to be a pop star in the style of Kylie Minogue.

@ Purpulan: Ahahaha! Your comment is fantastic. I mean, I really like this album a lot, but I can also see your point. Sometimes I do wonder if it's a bit conventional. It's just that I have a weakness for those cinematic melodies mixed with electronics and sung in that way. And I really like cherry jam.
