I would like to delve into the soundtracks of pornographic films.

And at 50 years old, what do you listen to? No, because it's a problem. At 50, I would really like to rediscover the beauty of listening to my farts.

Ah, how lovely the comment space in Nirvana reviews is. It serves as a bit of my daily ginseng.

"There are texts that really just want to show off, full of big words but lacking any real desire to communicate" SCARRUCOLAMENTO ESIZIALE. They can go screw themselves, along with that other jerk, Manuel Agnelli.

Not one of my favorite albums for sure, but definitely interesting. When it comes to kraut rock, for me the top are Can and Popol Vuh, no question about it. And among the Can, I prefer Ege Bamyasi to Tago Mago. And also Phallus Dei by Amon Duul II is a masterpiece.

They have always seemed terribly mediocre to me.

And anyway, just to defend myself at least a little from the constant accusations you keep throwing at me about the banality of my examples and my quotes, and about the fact that I don't know this and I don't know that, and that I listen to Goldfrapp so I don't know, let me tell you that I am the only one so far who has written a review of a work by Charles Ives, which, apparently (but only because you told me, huh, and because you have the vinyl of Freak Out, otherwise I wouldn't have known, also because I listen to Goldfrapp), is quite appreciated by Zappa.

"If you listen to records the way you read writings, we’re all good" ----> You too aren’t doing very well when it comes to reading, considering I never said that I read this review well (in fact, I didn’t even rate it, and there must be a reason for that). :)

I'll tell you that servility towards an artist leads nowhere, and frankly, from the albums I've listened to from Zappa, it seems absolutely clear to me that his language and that of Battles are quite distant. Also, there's the camp that claims Battles are negligible because King Crimson existed before them and expressed the same things better. So at this point (after hearing all sorts of things, as usual), I wonder: what are these Battles, a copy of Zappa, or of King Crimson? Because it seems impossible to be both, given that Fripp and Zappa have fairly distant (and equally brilliant) personalities. Then Zappa can reference the beginning of The Rite of Spring, while if an artist today cites someone from the past, they automatically lack creativity. Art and genius also involve borrowing from the past, infusing the citation with one's own personality. Otherwise, a painter like Raphael would be a fool, not a genius, and the same goes for Zappa. Moreover, I absolutely do not want to place Battles or Claypool on the same level as Zappa; in fact, if you look at it, I rated "A Mirrored" with a 4, a score that is usually not given to geniuses, but whatever. It seems to me that there's a tendency to see everything as black or white, without weighing judgments or evaluating and interpreting the experiences we have with certain music.
