The review is truly exciting, huh... well, I don't even know what else to add, because I'm at a loss for words; it left me breathless. Actually, I do want to add something about the current African situation. Recently, I've had the chance to watch some amateur documentaries made by missionaries in Africa, and to discuss the African situation with a friend who spent a few months in Kenya, and the shocking things to talk about seem endless. In exporting our humanitarian aid to the populations we have reduced to their current state, something horrible is happening, which is that we Westerners are taking advantage of it to try to impose our ideology, our lifestyle, our "culture" (?). All of this risks sweeping away millennia-old traditions and obliterating all of Africa's cultural heritage, from superstitions to music. You see horrific scenes, slums where people drink Coca-Cola because it's easier to find than water, and where people starving to death watch crap television inside their huts. First, we destroyed their existence; now we go there to explain our conception of family, our idea of medicine, how the civilization of consumerism works. We have devastated their fragile social structures with our concept of "state apparatus" and market, all implanted in a foreign body. And the damage is irreparable. But it's not like we're any less poor than they are. With what face do I have to see the train conductor every day reprimanding a group of black people for not having bought a train ticket, shouting nonsense like "have a minimum of civic sense, gentlemen"? Go to hell, idiot.

It's a nice album, even if it doesn't quite surpass the (pretty high) standard he's set with previous releases. I'd say we can now really talk about a standard in the case of loscil, but not in a negative sense, because he has developed a distinctive style that makes you recognize it right away from the first notes of each track, which is not at all easy in ambient music. Personally, I'm atypical; my favorite album of his is "first narrwos" rather than the more highly regarded submers or plume.

Eluvium = Giovanni Allevi American Indie. If this is worse than the others, well, better a cleaver up your ass.

What an incredible album! And such a fitting title!! Of international caliber, now I'll check out the other two as well, but if they're anything like this one, I might seriously fall in love.

A half-hearted review that dismisses one of the best Italian pop albums of all time; if you didn't feel like doing it, you could have just skipped it.

Hooray, another discussion about grunge and the hate towards Pearl Jam! Now I also want the classic comment from someone explaining that Grunge never really existed! Come on!
Laurent Garnier Unreasonable Behaviour

Deep house with a terrifying variety of timbre, undoubtedly one of the most plausible reference points for all electronic music of the past decade, if only because it manages to combine the needs of dancing with those of listening. However, my rating is a 3.75 (which I gladly round up to 4), because I still find it difficult to listen to it from start to finish without spotting some weak points, even though "City sphere" is worth the ticket price on its own! You really impressed me with all those points in the review, but you conveyed the idea well.

Uxo, do you happen to know Wes's "A Dynamic New Sound" (which came out shortly before this)? What do you think of it?

@ Terry: Am I getting worked up for a discussion about Legolas? :)
