I only know her singles, and that's enough for me to consider her superior to Britney (not that it takes much).

Regarding the controversy surrounding the latest comments, honestly, I don’t know if I can consider him a hero either because I have a more "epic" conception of the hero; for me, a hero is someone who fights on the front lines and perhaps pays the ultimate price while saving the lives of others. Or, to broaden the scope a bit, a man who makes a sensational discovery capable of changing (improving, of course) people's lives. Saviano hasn't discovered anything; he has merely given more media attention to a sadly well-known story; nor does he fight in any real sense; he has only exposed how limited the ethical code of the mafiosi is (at most half a page) who, worse than in a totalitarian regime, do not hesitate to respond with shotguns and quicklime to written attacks. Although the commitment and the risks (many) involved are undoubtedly commendable, the definition of "hero" may be a bit excessive. However, I have no doubt about his good faith because, personally, I wouldn't risk my life nor would I like to live under indefinite protection, not even for double the profits derived from Gomorra. Money that may only serve to start a new life who knows when, certainly not to enjoy it. The moral of the story: heroes or not, there can never be enough people like Saviano.

I believe that during the time of Soundgarden he didn't do drugs at all and that he started now!

Personally, I see nothing wrong with a rock icon from the last 20 years wanting to take on a challenge by playing R&B; after all, one of my musical perversions is imagining an icon of a certain genre grappling with antithetical types of music, or at least unusual, unexpected ones. The problem is that, apart from 2-3 barely passable tracks, the album is really terrible, and seeing the author of Jesus Christ Pose sprawled out on a nightclub sofa like a complacent old pimp (only 50Cent could do worse) was one of the saddest things I’ve encountered in the last month. By the way, the worst album by Chris Cornell, and the most poorly executed production/collaboration by Timbaland.

I agree with the "heaviness" of some tracks, but there are at least 5 that are worth my vote on their own. The review is heartfelt, and I fully share it. However, I can’t help but be nitpicky about the progression of "Please Forgive Me" (DO-MIm-LAm-SOL), just in case anyone is interested :)

What bad luck, 2 years ago I sent a review of "La Febbra" and it was discarded (probably it was too semi-serious). Anyway, my podium is: 3) Pazienza, 2) Un Attimo Al Bagno, 1) Il Vecchio Conio. Consolation prize for "L'Uomo Che Usciva La Gente."

As a child, it was one of my favorite tapes in the car... sigh... and with the right stereo, I would still listen to it today.

If I point out that I haven't even mentioned the cashier in question, are you still going to make me drink a beer with you? :)

@Larrok: First of all, I'm glad you're not taking it personally, because the issue could have easily been misunderstood. My criticism of the reviewer isn’t aimed at something abstract, but rather at what he says and the way he says it. He doesn’t claim to be The Word, but his personal opinions (personal, indeed, like those of any critic writing online or in print) ooze a snobbery that I rarely encounter elsewhere. The bluntness of some of his judgments makes him come across, unfortunately, as someone who just pronounces sentences, not to mention his evaluation criteria. I was telling you that I don’t put much weight on my own musical readings, because I could easily consider some random person writing on DeBaser (and there are many here who write well and are quite knowledgeable) as more reliable and engaging than an established critic from Rolling Stone. To be honest, perhaps you’re asking too much for me to remember the author of a "piece,ā€ because it’s not something I’ve lingered on much, but I can tell you that I often find myself more in tune with some writings from this site rather than on more "qualified" (on paper, let’s be clear :D) websites or magazines.
