The classic or the innovative? And who among the two is the innovative one? With all due respect, they are both quite conservative these days. The last of the Floyd to try something a bit bolder was Wright during the times of Broken China, and to think that in Venice the good Rick played truly remarkably well...

Sorrow, Signs of life, Yet another movie, Terminal frost, On the turning away... all excellent tracks then as now. Joe is right... And tonight in Venice!

The Pink Floyd devoted to pop? Are we talking about The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn? No, because, just to be clear, it was much, much more pop than this, which has two or three pop songs.

Underrated.

Great debut, but 5 is too much.

Kato, "rearranged" is one thing, talking about "old pieces redone with music written by someone else" makes it seem like the song has been rewritten. Okay.

I share the overall judgment on the album but not the analysis. One cannot review this compilation (because that’s what it is) without mentioning the three albums from which it mainly draws inspiration: Fra la via Emilia e il West, Quasi come Dumas, and the Album concerto with the Nomadi. Additionally, there are more recent recordings (and they are much rarer). In fact, it is these latter ones that lower the quality of the album, not to mention, or rather especially, the operation itself, since the songs taken from "Tra la via Emilia...", which are so disparaged here, are among Guccini's best works! One last thing: it is unclear which are the old tracks with the remade music... who knows.

Better than The Wall because, unlike the "wall," it doesn’t have dead moments and filler songs, because the songs develop freely and the Floyd take all the space they need, better than The Wall because it’s less self-referential in the lyrics.
