Fabrizio De Andrè / Premiata Forneria Marconi In Concerto Vol. I e II
Voto:
Historic, indispensable, the adjectives could be endless. For De André, it was a turning point in more than one sense, both musically and in terms of his relationship with the audience, which is why these albums are doubly important. Some arrangements survived almost intact until Faber's last tours. In volume two, there's also the gem of De André, who, a little tipsy, sings about "svizzeri nel bosco" instead of the gypsies (!). Pieces of history.

No, no, I never said that FDG's Lives are to be thrown away, on the contrary! It's just that perhaps there are a few too many. Back in the day, I bought the trilogy Niente da capire - Catcher in the sky - Musica leggera, then Il bandito e il campione... all beautiful in my opinion, but then I gave up on the subsequent ones - perhaps mistakenly.
Pink Floyd Live in Rome Palaeur,June 20,1971

Mandatory notice for this literally incredible bootleg. The Pink Floyd captured on a night of great shape, Gilmour and especially Wright give the audience a simply epic Fat Old Sun. With all the limitations of the recording (the tape was clearly recycled and if you listen closely you can hear in the background "residues" from the previous recording!!!) the document is immensely precious for fans, yet another demonstration that what is on Ummagumma is a pale shadow of what they were doing live at the time.

Voto:
De Gregori is a notch above the others, if not two. At the very least, he has never compromised his integrity (except for the too many live shows - as we all know) unlike so many others. I have always liked Mannoia, even though she was OVERRATED in the past. Ron is a respectable half measure, and Pino Daniele, who has lost any credibility for at least twenty years, is the reason why I have never even been curious about this album.

It seemed too good to be from the AR...

No, I still can't see Ivano in a situation like that... I hope I never have to see him like that.
Zucchero Zu & Co.
Voto:
"The worker invents, the genius copies"... as if to say that Zucchero is the genius of the situation? Come on, please... Zucchero is a modest craftsman of song, quite clever in packaging his goods and even more skilled in selling them. He began his career with a handful of excellent songs, but soon started producing commercial drivel, albeit well-produced. Now he's a caricature.
Edoardo Bennato OK Italia
Voto:
At the time, Ok Italia (the song) felt to me like some ridiculously catchy, radio-friendly nonsense, which is why I kept my distance from the album, and frankly from everything that came after from Bennato.

Giving a 1 is a moral obligation. Even if at least Pezzali isn’t as unpleasant as many others and seeing him today, weighed down and aged, is almost endearing. I’m waiting for the reunion with Repetto, who must be said: he had the good taste to fade away with the spoils.
