Ethan and Joel Cohen Non è Un Paese Per Vecchi
Voto:
Beautiful film. Epic, harsh, icy as someone rightly said above, violent but never self-indulgent. And absolutely moral, don't be fooled by the non-ending. Direction and screenplay are impeccable.

This is stolen talent from porn. What a shame. In the hands of someone like Rocco Siffredi, it would do wonders.
Brad Bird, Jan Pinkava Ratatouille

Even Chicken Little doesn't fit because that is indeed Disney (and you can tell). In fact, that represented Disney's (failed) attempt to produce a CG animated film without Pixar, which at the time was about to break free from the contract.
Brad Bird, Jan Pinkava Ratatouille

Excellent film, yet another testament to Pixar's talent (Disney creatively has nothing to do with it) and to Brad Bird in particular after the phenomenal The Incredibles. "Perbenismo"???

@gbrunoro: you're right... halfway, in the sense that yes, officially the escape trilogy includes turné and not puerto escondido, which, however, is in every way a direct thematic continuation of the three previous films, a real "fourth chapter," even if you don't appreciate it: hence my short circuit.

And we don't speak of enchantment regarding Melissa, but rather of dis/enchantment, if anything. The island is the place where those who feel somewhat defeated remain (or return).

Indeed, the war is just a distant scenario, a backdrop, if you will. The setting is not coincidentally Castellorizo, or, I don't know, Rhodes; the film needed a perspective from the margins not only of the conflict but truly of geography and history.
Bernardo Bertolucci The Dreamers
Voto:
A film that reaches a 6, it's been talked about too much for better or worse, only because it's by Bertolucci.
Gabriele Salvatores Mediterraneo

The review doesn't really say anything... the film does talk about war but only in part; it's fundamentally a film about "escape" (in fact, along with Marrakech Express and Puerto Escondido, it's a true "trilogy of escape"), about friendship, about disillusionment. War, seen this way, from a distance, is more of a backdrop, a pretext, than the true theme of the film.
Elio e Le Storie Tese Studentessi

I too have gradually stopped following Elio since Rum casusu... I haven't listened to a full album anymore, increasingly sensing a feeling of technical heaviness that, as far as I'm concerned, is quite irrelevant. Then, the argument that one needs a degree in musicology to appreciate Elio doesn’t seem to make much sense to me.
