Roger Waters Amused To Death
Voto:
Great album, not a masterpiece. It has its share of filler in the middle section but remains the best (by force) of Waters and one of the best of the solo Floyds.

I believe it would be nice to make peace with one’s past, with just the right amount of self-irony that never hurts. After all, we're not talking about a song to be ashamed of. A few years ago, Battiato revisited on tour two songs that, as he himself amusingly recalled while presenting them, ended up at the top of Renzo Arbore's "Schif parade." They were obviously "La convenzione" and "Paranoia"... anyone who remembers can understand.
Angelo Branduardi La Pulce D'Acqua
Voto:
Only the title track would be worth a 5, but the rest of the album lives up to it. Branduardi, even though in more recent years he has had his dips, is still one of the most interesting musicians around; he has turned the recovery of medieval music into an art of his own.

@primiballi: You are obviously right about De André. But do you really think it's worth discussing? I don't know, maybe it's better for certain operations to go unnoticed and, as they say, to each his own.

The genius of easycure: "And do you think the backup singers were around thirty years ago?" Answer: Obviously yes, the backup singers were already there during the Dark Side Of The Moon tour. There's no need to go further. Kill yourself. You don't know shit about Pink Floyd.

Oh, there's no fucking sax, right? Really? And before you were whining about how obscene THAT sax was on THAT track. It's still there, and all you have to do is reread; it's just an example to show that you're talking about something you might not have even seen except in passing. The tackiness, if that's what it is, has been the same for 30 years and in the same place. Yeah, you really know how to spout nonsense, well done. Clap clap.

But if they even wrote to you that there's a sax on One Of These Days, a sax! and you're still following that lead. Where have they seen the sax on OOTD? In what movie, I wonder??? Is it even worth discussing? Let's be serious.

What can be said about this album... beautiful. And it can always be enjoyed again with pleasure.

In my opinion, this album is much better than what the reviewer remembers. It’s inferior to the debut album, but if only there were more records like this. They recorded it at Astoria, David Gilmour's floating studio, using all the appropriate vintage equipment, and it has some really beautiful sounds. I also saw them live that year, they were really good. What a shame.
