Fabrizio De André Le Nuvole
Voto:
Don Raffaé is Raffaele Cutolo, a notorious camorra boss. The review stumbles here and there, but the album definitely does not. Although it's not De André's best. 5 rounded up (slightly) for excess.
Paolo Virzì Ovosodo
Voto:
Seen at the time and I would really like to see it again. Virzì, along with Verdone, is one of the few worthy heirs of the glorious tradition of Italian comedy.
Vasco Rossi La Compagnia
Voto:
Dear Primiballi, I find this cover a bit noisy, and I can't help but miss the original version when I listen to it. If Bocelli said that Battisti sang poorly, well, he really made a monumental own goal because in his field, he is neither a Pavarotti nor a Domingo, but just a modest pop tenor.
Tom Waits Swordfishtrombones
Voto:
One of the many Waitsian masterpieces, certainly not the only one, this is a turning point in the singer-songwriter's career. For those who liked this, I recommend the equally exceptional Rain Dogs.
Coen Brothers Il Grande Lebowski
Voto:
An authentic cult film, full of anthology scenes and protagonists in top form, among whom a stunning goodman deserves special mention.
Gino Paoli Milestones
Voto:
Paoli is someone who has always left me feeling somewhat indifferent, despite two or three undisputed masterpieces (which Primiballi mentions in the review) that cannot fail to appeal to those who love singer-songwriter music; consequently, I have always kept my distance...
David Fincher Panic Room
Voto:
The least beautiful of Fincher. Dignified.
Tom Waits Bone Machine
Voto:
Dust and tears, rain and rusty iron, flashes of electricity. The Waitsian universe under an apocalyptic sky.
Tom Waits Blue Valentine
Voto:
Beautiful, beautiful album. The first Tom Waits at his best.
Syd Barrett The Madcap Laughs
Voto:
Nice review??? OK, 4 for the passion but 1 for the Italian and the punctuation thrown around randomly... have you "disappeared enough"????
