Ugly, no need to say much more.
Pupi Avati La cena per farli conoscere

Avati has certainly done better, but it's still a film that is worth watching.

An album that Battiato's fans are generally very fond of, and with good reason. Alexanderplatz is a masterpiece, but I also like to mention the only song not mentioned in the review: Tempi Moderni ("e taglierei i capelli/e cambierei vestito e pelle/nei giorni in cui mi pesa/anche l'orologio al polso"). Battiato and Pio are the greatest songwriting duo of the '80s.

Alice is not unknown; she is forgotten. Not entirely, though, as this site demonstrates. Yet, it is her responsibility because it seems she doesn’t really seek success. On her side, she has (or would have) the voice, the presence (she was and still is a beautiful woman), the charisma, and the intelligence to be a sort of female Battiato, and in fact, Alice is a great singer and songwriter, one of the greatest in Italy. However, she has been making programmatic niche choices for several years now: I believe, I hope, that she is happy that way.

And then I realize only now (let's also tell the editors) that the title is wrong too!!! It is "Mélodie passagère," in French.

This one by Alice is one of the few that I'm missing. However, a clarification needs to be made: in the singular it is "lied" not "lieder," which is the plural.

What the hell does half a point less mean because there was already one? Does being the first to write it make a review objectively better? What does it matter to someone who stumbles upon Debaser tomorrow which one was written first?

Yes, but it's Depp.
Tom Waits Closing Time
Voto:
On the best Waits albums, one could talk for a long time, because he is one of those artists with such a high-level discography that it becomes really difficult to choose. Too many masterpieces, near-masterpieces, but also "simply" excellent albums. How can we forget records like Frank's Wild Years, Alice, Bone Machine, or the very recent and monumental Orphans... all stuff for which 90% of songwriters would sell their soul to know how to write.

A must-see film.
