Bjork, the disco music made us dance and sing, not the crap that they've been peddling in clubs for 30 years. Rockollettin was a DIY mix of reworked rock tracks, a true must-have of the era. Best wishes to everyone.

The Chemical Brothers: Come with Us

Ed and Tom emerge from their basement with this "consolidation" album.
We leave the old school to Fatboy Slim.
We leave techno to Daft Punk.
Not bad, though, the Orbital...
Whether they intended it or not, this is what comes across in the sounds of the album. Setting aside the dreadful "It Began In Africa," the album is good.
It contains self-references à la Evan Dando (the sounds of "Song For Sirens" can be heard pretty much everywhere), mixing old and new into remixes.
I like "Come With Us," "Star Guitar," and "Galaxy Bounce." The first has a nice seventies insertion towards the end of the track.
Overall, it's enjoyable, and I haven't felt this way since the unbeatable "Exit Planet Dust," which the two cunning ones have well thought to fish out here and there, mixed with "In-Sides" by Orbital (was that the one with the colorful cover?).
It's not love, but it's a nice album. Do I get the idea across?

"The Unattainable Exit Planet Dust"??? The most stupidly trendy album by the Chemical Brothers, who were still fatally compromised with the big beat of the Gucci runway that was, is described as "unattainable"... I guess you didn't like "Dig Your Own Hole," probably the best album they ever recorded. And will record.

According to you, Mister C., "Exit Planet Dust" was their debut and few knew them. It kick-started their popularity and an entire musical trend. How could they be fashionable if they were just starting? "Dig Your Own Hole," great album no doubt (I love "Block Rockin' Beats"), even contained music for a Pirelli commercial, "Setting Sun" was used for TV openings, and featured one of those fashion phenomena you despise so much, namely Noel Gallagher. That's how they began to be "fashionable." I didn't like "Surrender," though.

I don't rate a collection; no matter how beautiful it is, it will always be somewhat heterogeneous. Clear and lengthy review. NOTES: [--You forgot to mention the original author of the PASSANTI (Brassens, but taken from a poem by Antoine Paul). The piece AVE MARIA from the INDIANO album is not sung solely by FABRIZIO but in duet with MARK HARRIS. Are you sure the tracks you define as singles are in that version and not the one that appeared in CANZONI {Fila la lana (popular French song from the 15th century), Delitto di paese (Brassens)} and in VOL. III (Il testamento)}?? Furthermore, a mention for the '80s was also deserved by MASSIMO BUBOLA.] BEST WISHES for the new year.

I still hate them (personal emotional issues) but they were good and original. I would vote for them again, but I prefer the second album; anyway, I haven't listened to them in years (about 25 years). Best wishes to everyone.

A job that can only be described as challenging; what I appreciate most about Juri are his qualities as a songwriter, especially when he gives the songs to Alice...
