As usual in Italy, commercial and low-quality cinema is preferred over auteur films. The film by Anton Corbijn (former photographer for Joy Division, Depeche Mode, and others) titled "Control," which tells the life story of Ian Curtis, is currently not being scheduled in Italy as no distributor seems interested in bringing it to theaters. It was released on October 10 in the U.S., the following day in the Netherlands, on the 25th in Australia, and on October 26 in Norway, but nothing in Italy. There is a site on Myspace that, by contacting the distribution, aims to show that the Myspace community wanting to see the film in theaters is numerous. To this end, just "add" the following site:
