Look, Poletti, my point was that we always end up mentioning Italian Neorealism, contrasting it with cheap films. I believe that in Italy, besides the low-budget flicks in the '70s, some decent films also came out, though perhaps I'm mistaken...

Be Totò against Maciste is a piece of crap just like all the films by Boldi.

Seeing Totò Sceicco or Totò contro Maciste alongside Boldi is embarrassing, yes, certainly for Boldi. (Look, Poletti dear, I may be an idiot cubed, but when an artist, be it an actor or a singer, does nonsense, I say it's nonsense even if it's the Prince de Curtis. I would close the discussion here, also because reasoning with you leads to nothing, my dear Poletti.)

@@Poletti criticized Totò's films upon their release, only to change his mind twenty years later—that's a fact. That Celentano (and also Muti) is worth nothing as an actor is a given. However, I was commenting on your tendency to always mention the usual 3 or 4 films of Italian neorealism, conveniently forgetting (rightly) that in those years a sea of "crap" was being produced, like this one with Celentano and many with Boldi, De Sica C., Totò, Banfi, Vitali, Montagnani (what the hell was this one called?). Then I comment on whatever I like and always about things I know, not like you.

but fossati (perhaps) meant that the wall should be with those who considered themselves "superior" (it's no longer the evening of stroboscopic!!).

Well, as @@Poletti says, there were years when masterpieces were made (?), but there were also musicarelli, Totò films, and Franchi/Ingrassia films. Certain movies like Amici Miei are for me genuine nonsense on par with Vanzina films, yet it is hailed by almost everyone as a masterpiece (?????). Any film featuring Ornella Muti will always receive at least a 4 from me because trying to make a photoromanzo actress act, Muti is even more static and stilted than her sister Claudia Rivelli (a star of photoromanzi in the '70s), always deserves a passing grade.
