Great vv! You and not the namesake... damn, you’re absolutely right (even though I like 'elephant'), the Royal Trux sweep away all the retro fluff and even the last, loffy Blues Explosion (to be exact, the penultimate was so loffy - two good tracks - that I didn’t even look for the last one); just one note on the RT: the 'masterpiece' 'twin infinitives' is actually the most unlistenable record I have, it has left behind Berio, metal machine music, trout mask replica, the Flying Luttenbachers, etc. etc.

You’re right about pasta with pesto, but for me (I’m biased) blue eyes are more charming than green ones... I accept scientific symposiums.

beautiful rec., although the feeling it gives me is a bit more unsettled than peaceful: but, certainly, of a stunned, enchanted unease.

great choice! Yes, I also care for Mark... and Nick is right about the covers, they're beautiful! (I've been obsessed with the Sun Kil Moon cover in a trance more than once)

Ah, what a nice sample... extreme and concise, just how I like it! And the title on Jesus is a war :D

I’ve never been able to stand it too much... there are records in whose melancholy I find solace that give me so much beauty, while this one and others just hurt me... I find them depressing, I look at the beautiful cover art and see it colored by Prozac, I hear the flat drums and it makes me think of a world where beauty cannot be seen... but today I read snippets of beautiful lyrics and I think I’ll give it another shot, but only (?) to do it justice ;)

a very enjoyable album (aside from the two pseudo-rap abominations), very refined and ‘hipster’ (but we can forgive that)... council meetin’: fantastic; about punk: I like the jam (as much as they are a punk band of their own kind, especially in their early phase), mashups can be nice...
